Rplace.tk

rplace.tk is a project with an intent to revive the original r/place 2022 experience. It was founded by BlobKat and Zekiah. The website has a little-known community with a very saturated history.

Development history

The website was launched on 5 April, 2022, shortly after the r/place event, as a rehabilitation and continuation of it.

Canvas 1

First

Canvas 1 was the original canvas of the website. Then, it took the form of the final 2000x2000 r/place canvas. Users were allowed to interact by placing pixels at a lower cooldown.

Second

Canvas 1 was reset for the first time in a year on 1 April, 2023.

Latest

Canvas 1 was reset by popular vote on 4 July 2023. It runs to this day.

Canvas 2

First

Canvas 2 was a complimentary canvas. It was created to celebrate the 2000 member milestone in the Discord server, achieved on July 7, 2022.

Second

Canvas 2 was booted up again on 1 April, 2023. It lasted until 1 June 2023, when server problems killed and corrupted the canvas.

Turkey

The Turkey Canvas was the April Fools Day joke for 2023. It shut down along with the second Canvas 2 on 1 June 2023.
