A canvas is a board which allows anyone to place pixels, anywhere. People are allowed to make pixel art, to destroy pixel art, and anything possible using the 32 different colors of pixels.

Self-hosted Canvases
Self-hosting is a feature which allows you to set up an r/place server on a personal computer. Others could connect to it by pressing "p" and typing in the URL to the server and board to load. Nobody actively utilized this feature, albeit some groups of players had plans to set up self-hosted canvases as a form of refuge from the main canvases.
It is currently advised to use the new server software, RplaceServer for creating instances of the rplace canvas. Zekiah created an obsoleted manual. However, most information for setting up an instance can be found on the RplaceServer repository directly, named RplaceServer on github.
